At MemoriPlay ("we", "us", or "our"), your family's stories are sacred — and so is your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the MemoriPlay website and mobile app
(together, the "Service"), how we use that information, and the choices you have.
By using MemoriPlay, you agree to the practices described below. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email address, and password when you create an account.
- Profile information: optional profile photo and display name.
- Memories and answers: audio recordings, video recordings, photos, text responses,
and the questions you choose or create.
- Payment information: when you purchase a package, payment details are collected and
processed by our payment partner (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number.
- Communications: messages you send us when you contact support.
Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, and
how you interact with the Service (which pages you visit, which features you use).
- Log data: IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used to keep the Service secure
and troubleshoot problems.
- Cookies and similar technologies: on our website we use essential cookies to keep you
signed in and remember your preferences.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service — including storing and playing back your memories.
- Process payments and deliver the packages you purchase.
- Create your personalized memory videos by combining your recorded answers.
- Send you account-related emails (receipts, password resets, important updates).
- Respond to your support requests.
- Improve the Service, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with our legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
Your memories stay private by default. We never sell your personal information or your
stored memories, and we never use them for advertising.
We only share your information in these limited situations:
- People you invite. When you share a memory video, only people with the unique access
code you give them can view it.
- Service providers. Trusted vendors who help us run the Service — such as cloud
hosting, database hosting, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, analytics, and error
monitoring. They only see the data they need to do their job and are bound by confidentiality.
- Legal requirements. If we're legally required to — for example, by a valid subpoena,
court order, or to protect people from harm.
- Business transfers. If MemoriPlay is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale
of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We'll notify you first.
4. How We Store and Protect Your Information
Your memories are stored on secure, encrypted cloud infrastructure. We use industry-standard safeguards
including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, regular backups, and security
monitoring.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your information and
continue improving our practices as threats evolve.
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your account and memories for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we
delete your memories from our active systems within 30 days. Some information may remain in encrypted
backups for up to 90 days before it's fully removed. We may keep limited records longer if legally
required (for example, tax or financial records).
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your account and personal information.
- Export a copy of your memories and data.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent to process your data.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
We'll respond within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
MemoriPlay is intended for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children
under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll delete
it.
8. International Users
MemoriPlay is operated from the United States. If you use the Service from another country, you
understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. and other
countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to make sure your data is treated
consistently with this policy wherever it lives.
9. Third-Party Links
The Service may contain links to websites or services we don't operate. This Privacy Policy doesn't apply
to those sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the updated version here and
change the "Last updated" date at the top. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know by email or
in-app notice before they take effect.
